1940’s War Time Del Oro Faux Dobro Resonator Pro Setup Plays Great Original Soft Shell Case
Out of stock
Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A 1940’s Del Oro Faux Resonator Guitar. This is a great guitar that is not a wall hanger. We spent a lot of dough to reset the neck so it plays great. It even has the original case that's in decent shape.. See pics
No way to tell what year this guitar was made. I have had several Del Oro Cowboy guitars that have the same tuners, bridge and tailpiece. They were all from the early 1940’s so I am going to estimate this old timer at approximately the same War Era Age…
This guitar was unplayable when we got it. We did a complete neck off reset to make this guitar play better than when it was new. Jeff the Tech did a great job on the reset and setup. We have new light strings on it. It plays with awesome easy playing low action. I could play this little guitar for hours. Its is such a pleasure to play. There were no body cracks to deal with. Just a couple dings and superficial scratches beyond that. Great shape for a vintage guitar of this era! It does have the 3 initials on the top. See pic 5…they were a kit sold with the guitars to identify your instrument. I did not attempt to remove them.
All original parts..even the pickguard is still with it. Those are always missing. The original brass frets still have tons of life left in them. The bridge, tailpiece, bone nut and tuners are all original. The tuners have a stamp that says…Safe-t-String Pat Pending Nos…then a bunch of numbers that are too small for me to read…see pics…The wood “resonator” is factory painted and still looks beautiful. This is a really nice historic guitar from the 1940’s that you can still enjoy playing!
This guitar has a nice woody sound. Sounds awesome with a slide but remember, this guitar has great playing action from the neck reset we did. You can play this guitar standard all night long! No sore fingers with this one.
The original Soft Shell Case is still operating…Beat up but still working…All latches, hinges and most of the leather handle are still with it. The accessory box lid is still here but loose. The interior, in purple, is very nice. No musty smells and fits this guitar as it should. A great vintage 1940’s case for this cool 1940’s Del Oro…check those pics!
Sold as-is given the age and vintage but it won't disappoint. I have been hand picking vintage guitars for my customers for over 18 years now...They all loved the instruments I found them…Check my Feedbacks. This cool Del Oro will certainly not be an exception..
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars!
