Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting…

A very historic Vintage Guitar. This is a 1968 Mosrite Gospel Guitar with the Lifton Hardshell Vintage Case..

I am dating it to 1968 from the both pots dating to 1968 See pic 6, and the GA007 serial number.. It is of the rare GA series, the same as Semie Moseley's legendary Blue Gospel. Semi Mosley’s personal guitar was listed on Reverb a few years ago for a staggering $107,500!! The serial on Semie's  was GA009. The Serial Number on this one is GA 007…made just before Semi’s personal guitar…The serial number is both etched into the fretboard and has the Mosrite Sticker inside the sound hole, also with GA 007 on it…See pics..

DESCRIPTION: This guitar is a thick-bodied acoustic/electric instrument.. It carries the Mosrite, oval-shaped, orange "Bakersfield" label inside the sound hole, and has a slightly scalloped headstock, instead of the jagged "M" found on the celebrity and others. It is also much more severely arched, front and back, almost forming a "bell-shape" on the back. This shape is in stark contrast to the shape and form of other Mosrite instruments.

DETAILS: The finish is a beautiful Sunburst.. The maple neck is all natural, having no color added to the finish. The headstock bears a special "seal" containing the sign of the cross and the words "Gospel Guitar" are positioned on the headstock so as to be easily read by the congregation as the guitar is held in the playing position. The body is a double cut-away, similar to the early Gibson ES-355, but the Gospel is much thicker in the body dimension. A full 2 ¾ inches..It has white knob and pick guards, nickel plated brass hardware, and the body is fully bound, including the "f" holes. The rosewood fingerboard is edgebound but the peghead remains plain maple. Serial Number: GA 007.

EXAMPLES: Many great players have played production Mosrites, including The Ramones, Curt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, The Ventures and others.

This guitar needed some work…the neck pocket was loose so it was reinforced…the pickguard and switch plate were toast so we had new white ones reproduced and the zero fret was too low. It was replaced …from there, its all original. Great looking Sunburst and has the Mosely Vibrato bridge with little tarnish…Even the adjustable bridge is still with this one and works great. It has some non original tuners on it. We replaced them with vintage correct Double line Kluson Individual Tuners. They work great! Its missing a small area of binding that you can’t see under the pickguard. I wanted to disclose that.

We had Jeff the Tech set it up with new 10’s. The low super fast Mosrite neck feels great…Very low action for easy playing of your hot licks! The original Mosrite Pickups sound amazing..of course! Very strong to this day. Love the sound of this cool guitar.

Check those pics. This full size Mosrite looks really good for its age. It has dings and scratches…It was played not just stored in a closet but all honest player wear. Nothing bad to note…

Sold as is no returns as its vintage and used..however, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 17 years now and they all love the instruments I find. This beauty will certainly not be an exception..

Thanks for checking out my cool guitars.
