Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

A beautiful 1973 USA Fender Jazz Bass Guitar in Candy Apple Red with the Original Silver and Blue Plush Hardshell Case....

I am dating this as a 1973. It has 1973 pots and the serial number neck plate for 1973 to 1974…I’m calling it a 1973..It also has the original Fender Jazz Bass Hang Tag with unfilled out warranty booklet…Really cool item by itself… See pics…

This is a one owner Bass that we just got…This cool bass has had a cool Candy Apple Red refin that looks really good. It has all original parts except for the the Refin, pickguard and tailpiece…I looks like it had a badass or something as it has an extra set of holes. It now has a correct Fender Tailpiece  on it…From there all original including the always missing bridge covers…this one even has the thumb rest…Original tuners, Strap buttons, pickups, and wiring…The pickup wiring had been clipped and reattached probably from the refin…the Silver and Blue Plush case is original to the guitar but appears to be an old Rickenbacker Bass Case. Its really cool and fits the bass as it should.

The Candy Apple Red has nice metal flake showing in it. It looks like it was originally Olympic white under it...see pics 13 and 15...Cool color! The Headstock has some fading around the tuners on the face. Probably from some stickers that had been on it a long time. See pic 7.

It has some back rash and the original owner had a pad attached with 4 screws on the back..see pic… I left those alone. It also has two extra holes by the front bridge cover. I am guessing he wanted to move it forward or back of the original position. The cover covers the holes mostly when attached..See pics…

Heres some info provided by Reverb regarding these really cool Bass Guitars..

As the third full year of Jazz Bass production, 1963 Jazz Basses are extremely sought-after instruments. By '63, Fender had refined the original 1960 design to include a 3 knob control set to replace the original "stacked" configuration and a curved fingerboard, both introduced by mid 1962. In 1963, the original string mutes were abandoned to allow players more direct playing control from their fingers.

Years of Production: 1960 - present

Body Style: Offset solid body

Wood Composition: Alder body, Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard

Design Elements: Bolt-on neck, dot inlays, 34-inch scale length

Notable Players:  John Entwistle, Noel Redding, Rick Danko, Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee

This cool Fender bass plays and sounds as good as it looks. Great neck angle with very comfortable playing action. The original Fender Pickups sound big and boomy. Love this bass!

As cool as the guitar is, the original Rickenbacker Bass case is also really cool. It’s the Silver with Blue Plush …The latches, handle and hinges are all correct and still operating …the original handle has the leather coming loose but the handle still works as it should..The Blue felt lining is still there and in very good shape...What a time capsule this guitar and case is…

This guitar is being sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. However, I have been handpicking my customers guitars for over 17 years now and they have all loved the instruments I find. This one will not be an exception. Any questions will be quickly answered and I am happy to discuss the guitar over the phone for an in-hand demo if you would like.

Thanks for checking out our cool guitars here …
